Hiking route Bodental/Klagenfurter Hut

Stinzesteig
The starting point of this quite challenging hike is the idyllic Bodental valley. From Gasthof Bodenbauer, the trail leads steadily uphill via the "Ogrisbauer" to the picturesque Ogrisalm. A suitable place for a first rest and a little refreshment. The partly insured Stinzesteig trail is exciting. The "wall book" reveals a lot about the previous hikers. In the rocky circus of the Karawanken, the Klagenfurter Hütte is surrounded by lush green meadows - the destination of our hike has been reached. If you still have enough stamina, you can climb the Kosiak or the Bielschiza. Then the regional delicacies at the Klagenfurter Hütte are well deserved.

From the parking lot at Gasthof Bodenbauer in the direction of Märchenwiese, soon turn right and continue past meadows and through the forest up to the last houses (Ogrisbauer). Turn left at the forest path and follow it. Climb up a frequently damp ditch. From the small ridge you have a beautiful view of the Geißberg (Kosiak) and into the Strugarjachgraben. We turn south into the high forest, where the path descends slightly. We soon reach the Ogrisalm with its newly built hut. There is a spring about 200m after the hut. From here you can follow the rest of the trail through the mountain pines. Just below the rocks, the trail then leads over a small ridge into the Stinze. The path is secured at exposed points. Once you have overcome these sections, you can already see the Matschacher Sattel. From here, descend a few meters and in about 15 minutes we are in front of the newly adapted Klagenfurter Hütte. The already familiar route leads us back via the Matschacher Sattel and the partially secured Stinzesteig. Shortly before the Ogrisalm, the path branches off to the right (622) and leads across the Märchenwiese to the Bodenbauer.
Alternative descent: From the Klagenfurter Hütte follow the 603 westwards, via the Matschacheralm, the Johannsenruhe down into the Bärental to the Stouhütte. Here, however, you would have to organize a lift.
